Gertrudis was born on December 11th, 1862.  Gertrudis' father was Jaume Sabriá Cortada ***TdeM ? - TdeM ?*** and her mother was Serafina Busquets Valls.  Her paternal grandparents were Juan Sabriá Frigola (Pals-Gualta) and Gertrudis Cortada Casagran (Gualta-Gualta). She had four brothers and a sister, named Joan, Joaquim, José, Joaquim and Catalina.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
