Pedro was born on February 6th, 1854.  Pedro's father was Miquel Sabrià Novells (StIscle-Gualta) and his mother was Catalina Ribot (Casavells).  His paternal grandparents were Pedro Sabrià (StHiscle) and Catalina Novells Castellá (Vilasacra-Gualta). He had three brothers and three sisters, named Critóbal, Francisca, Joaquim, Joaquima, Maria and Sabrià Ribot (Gualta).  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
